Captain of Indian Women’s cricket team, Mithali Raj is a household name in the cricketing circles now and have been an inspiration for many budding female cricketers to take up the game seriously and represent the country at the highest level.
Along with Jhulan Goswami, Mithali Raj has been a thorn in the flesh for every opposition, and in her illustrious career, it has been under her captaincy that India qualified for the finals of two World Cups the most recent being the 2017 edition held in England.
India played sensational cricket all through the group stage and was also looking in command during the final match, but a sensational spell of bowling by Anya Shrubsole and a horrendous batting display towards the later part of the innings handed England a sensational come from behind victory which helped them clinch their 4th World Cup title.
Mithali was one of the pivotal characters behind India qualifying for the finals and played some tremendous innings in the process. Mithali who has undoubtedly been a great servant for her country celebrates her birthday today, and the whole cricketing fraternity wished the inspirational leader who has always led his team from the front.
Former Indian skipper and known as the ‘God of Cricket’, Sachin Tendulkar took to his twitter handle and wished the Indian skipper a very happy birthday and thanked her for inspiring several girls to take up cricket seriously. Wishing one of India’s finest athletes a very happy birthday. @M_Raj03, you’ve already inspired millions of girls to take up sport and I’m sure will do so for much more to come. Have a great year ahead,” Tendulkar wrote.

Meanwhile, there is no need to give an introduction of Sachin Tendulkar. Regarded as arguably the greatest ever batsmen to have graced the game, Tendulkar has almost all records in Test and ODI cricket with him but with the sort of form Kohli is in he might well go on to break Tendulkar’s record shortly.
