Saha guides Bengal to victory, Manoj ruled out due to muscle pain
Wriddhiman Saha, the Indian wicketkeeper’s stormy 71 off only 47 balls guided Bengal to the victory against Hyderabad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T-20 championship on Saturday and the wicketkeeper seemed to have earned great relief as he said over phone from Nagpur, “In Bengal’s last tournament Vijay Hazare Trophy, I could not perform. I scored only 49 runs in four matches. So it was truly painful for me to bear the failure. And today, before going to play I was mentally prepared to execute big innings.”
Saha has unleashed five over boundaries and seven boundaries in his innings and Ashok Dinda speaking from Nagpur on Saturday, said, “He was really fantastic. He alone destroyed Hyderabad innings and laid the foundation of our victory.”
But on the day of their victory, Bengal received a big blow as skipper Manoj Tiwari was ruled out of the match due to pain in the calf muscle. He will not be able to participate also in Bengal’s second match against Tamil Nadu also in the tournament.
