Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza has been in the media since she married Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik as there has been always questions about their marriage.
However, she has put all the rumours to bed when she appeared in one of the most popular talk shows on TV ‘Koffee with Karan’.
She said: “I am happy and we quite often stay far from each other and that’s the secret of our happy marriage. We travel so much.
“My dad always jokes that his 31-year marriage with my mum now is because of his tennis. He says our marriage is really strong because one of us is always travelling.”
Ever since she got married to Shoaib Malik in 2010 and the pair has kept a safe distance from the media and both the players have excelled well in their respective sports.
Sania Mirza had become No.1 in Women doubles last year and have held her top position for a significant amount of time. Meanwhile, Shoaib Malik has made a re-entry into Pakistan national team and have been playing an active role in the shorter formats.
The tennis star was also asked about her alleged relationship with Bollywood star hero Shahid Kapoor before her marriage but she was quick to rule it out as a rumour. The couple are living happily as they have settled in Dubai and have also achieved significant progress over the last seven years making their respective nations proud.
Sania Mirza also inaugurated an SMTA Grassroot Level Academy on Monday which will help young kids aged between three and eight to excel in the game of tennis which is seeing a tremendous increase in popularity across India over the past decade.
