As Mumbai Indians will take on Delhi Capitals in the first qualifier of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Sanjay Bangar opined that the defending champion should not take DC lightly just because they are inexperienced to play the qualifying rounds.

Mumbai Indians qualified for the playoffs when they were still left to play two matches while Delhi Capitals’ having a stunning start of the tournament had the fag end. After losing four matches on the trot, Shreyas Iyer’s team finally entered the playoff race after winning their last league stage match against RCB.

On the Star Sports show Game Plan, Sanjay Bangar stated that Mumbai Indians should not be speculated to have the upper hand against Delhi Capitals. As per him, although DC is not familiar with the playoffs, the journey of DC in IPL 2020 has made them strong to face the intense qualification rounds.

“Delhi Capitals, I agree might not have the experience of playing a lot of Playoff matches, but what they have undergone this season is very critical. Success early on, failures were in the latter half of the tournament, and then a very good match to qualify for and play in the second spot.”

Sanjay Bangar stated that Delhi Capitals had got the perfect combination from youngsters to experience to mix bag of overseas and Indian players. He warns the three-time IPL winners that the clash with the DC won’t be an easy one for them.

“I believe that the kind of combination they have of good, young, experienced Indian batsmen, a battery of overseas fast bowlers and Indian spinners, that is a good mix of experience, pace, youth and then, if there’s one team that can challenge Mumbai Indians, it’s Delhi Capitals. So, beware Mumbai Indians, it’s not going to be easy,” Bangar pointed out.

Notably, MI has comfortably defeated DC in both the league stage matches. It will be a crucial encounter for the Delhi-based franchise, who for the consecutive time has entered the playoffs.
