Sanjay Jagdale, Forme BCCI Secretary Wants Anil Kumble To Continue As Head Coach
Sanjay Jagdale, the former BCCI secretary, has batted for the current Head Coach of Indian cricket team – Anil Kumble and has backed him to continue the post. It is to be noted that the former Madhya Pradesh captain was the convener co-ordinator of Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) that picked up Anil Kumble as the coach last year in the month of June.
“Cricket is a team game, where everybody contributes. As far as support staff and cricketers are concerned, performance should be the only criteria for giving someone a job and I think Kumble has scored on that count. No one can challenge Kumble as a coach or question his cricketing decisions. He brings in a lot of character and fighting spirit to the team. If I have a chance, I will continue with him,” Jagdale told TOI on Sunday.
As per reports, there was an alleged rift between skipper Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble, which induced BCCI to invite the application as going by performance of Indian team in past year, by no chance Kumble should be replaced but COA head Vinod Rai called it a regular exercise, stating that Kumble was offered a contract for only one year. Though Ramachandra Guha- former member of COA – in his letter to Rai questioned the timing of move of BCCI.
