Pakistan is preparing for their first fight against Sri Lanka in the home ground after the World Cup 2019. Pakistan team will try to get back to their pace after their deteriorating performance in the last World Cup. Sarfaraz Ahmed is given back the responsibility to lead the team in T20I series and ODI series against Sri Lanka. Veteran Shahid Afridi and Zaheer Abbas opine about the captaincy of Sarfaraz.
They have claimed that the wicket-keeper batsman is good as a captain in limited-overs formats but not for the Test format. It can be hectic for him too for leading the team in all the formats.
“I think it would be better for him if Sarfaraz didn’t become the Test captain because I think captaining in three formats is a big burden for him. He is naturally inclined to be a successful captain in the limited over cricket formats,” Afridi said.
“I don’t think he can manage the pressure of captaining in three formats. He would be better off only managing the ODI and T20 formats,” Zaheer said.
Sarfaraz Ahmed should be allowed to focus on 50-overs and T20 cricket
Zaheer also goes with Afridi and express to give skipper only the responsibility of ODI and T20I. As Test is the longest format, Zaheer thinks that Sarfaraz Ahmed will not be able to manage the team.
“Test cricket is the most difficult format in cricket and it is not easy captaining in this format. Sarfaraz should be allowed to focus on 50-overs and T20 cricket,” he said.

“I think there will be a lot of pressure on Misbah handling both things plus he doesn’t have coaching experience at the top level,” he added.
Sri Lanka team will reach on 25 September and the first ODI match is scheduled on 27 September. Sarfaraz led team will have to work hard and also it is Misbah’s first assignment as a coach.
