Sarfaraz Khan Ruled Out Of IPL 10 With Leg Injury 1

Things seem to be heading southwards rather quickly for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as injuries to their top players have already plagued the team miserably. Another addition to the list of the injured personnel for the Royal Challengers has been that of middle order batsman and hard hitter Sarfaraz Khan.

The 19-year-old batsman was involved in a serious mishap during a fielding session as he slipped while trying to chase a ball to the boundary. The impact of his fall was so drastic that Khan had to be stretched off the ground and seemed to be in quite a bit of agony. As per reports emerging from the Royal Challengers camp, Sarfaraz is set to miss the upcoming edition of the IPL.

Khan isn’t the first individual to be ruled out with an injury in the lead-up to the tournament. Wicketkeeper KL Rahul was first ruled out for the entire season owing to the need of an urgent shoulder injury, which he sustained during the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The elegant opener might take up to 2 months to recover from his shoulder injury.

But the most serious and grave concern was that of skipper Virat Kohli. Kohli, who endured a painful dive in the Ranchi Test against Australia will miss at least the first three games for Bangalore and will return only when he is fully fit.

Once Kohli was ruled out, AB de Villiers was favourite to be named the captain, but the South African then injured his back while playing a domestic ODI tournament in South Africa and his participation too is in doubt. Khan’s name has been another addition to an unwanted list for sure.
