Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur expressed that under new captain Sarfaraz Khan the team can go from strength to strength for the upcoming 2019 World Cup.
Mickey Arthur, in an interview, stated that there are exciting times ahead for the Pakistan team. Pakistan announced him captain after Azhar Ali stepping down from the role after losing in Australia series.
Arthur said:
“We have rewarded good young players for the form shown in Domestic cricket and some really good performance in the PSL.”
The above statement means Coach Mickey Arthur is happy with the squad selection for the upcoming West Indies tour. Mickey Arthur will be completing his one year in between the tour.
Mickey Arthur believes that change in leadership is going to help Pakistan, he added Sarfaraz is a very good leader who sets a great example for all. This ODI series against West indies is going to be extremely important for Pakistan, as if they win they will have good breathing space between them and others below them in the ICC Rankings for World Cup qualification.
