Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed on Monday reacted to the Indian media coverage of him singing ‘Mauka Mauka.’
It came following Pakistan’s victory against India in the final of the Champions Trophy last year.
He spoke to the SAMAA TV where he mocked their “Mauka Mauka” coverage which was telecasted by the Indian Media.
In the past, the Indian media had come down hard at Pakistan’s cricketers for their dismal record against India at World Cups. The viral advertisement “Mauka Mauka” aired on television all through previous World Cups.
However, it was Sarfraz Ahmed’s team who took revenge on India by defeating them in the final of the Champions.
“The way they created the sensation out of me singing Mauka Mauka was hilarious,” he said. “I was tagged everywhere with that clip of the bulletin in which their anchors were slamming me for singing that song,” Sarfaraz Khan.
He added he had sung the song as all the spectators gathered outside his home after Pakistan’s historic victory in the final.
“You’ve been targeting us with this song for so many years–so what if I sung it only one time?” he said, attacking the Indian media.
When asked about whether or not he knows or has met Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma, he came up with another dig, saying she should be knowing about him but he had not met her.
“She must know who I am. But we have never met nor have I ever spoken to her,” he said about Anushka.
Sarfraz further stated Pakistan got criticized for using foul language on the pitch, whereas, the same doesn’t apply for their Indian counterparts.
