A better leader with the bat:
As a skipper taking your team into a new series, you are expected to lead from the front your department.
Saurav Ganguly was a master at that. He was always ready to take on the challenge even in countries likes Australia and England as he led from the front to show the way for his side. He played a number of eye-catching and match winnings innings in his career and also helped batsmen around him as he laid grounds for a world-class batting order for the Indian side.
He hardly let them down and came up with a gritty innings whenever needed, something that is not the case with Dhoni.
MSD, to be fair, has played some mind-boggling innings under pressure but has not been the batsman that the whole team can depend upon. He is a wicket-keeper batsman, and one of the best at that, but with the bat, he was far from an ideal leader.
