Former New Zealand batsman Scott Styris has selected the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2020 which will take place later in the year. Styris has picked Shubman Gill and Sanju Samson in his squad for the Indian team. Gill hasn’t found a place in the T20I squad and had played two One Day Internationals against New Zealand before the World Cup 2019.
On the other hand, Sanju Samson is currently in India’s T20I squad for the ongoing series against Sri Lanka. However, the talented Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman is yet to get his chances in the playing XI as the team management is backing Rishabh Pant.
No place for Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Meanwhile, there is no place for India’s swing master Bhuvneshwar Kumar in Scott Styris’ team of World Cup T20 squad. Kumar was recently injured and had to miss the T20I series against West Indies due to side strain.
Navdeep Saini who has impressed with his pace makes the cut into Scott Styris’ team. Saini scalped two wickets in the second T20I against Sri Lanka and he was awarded the Man of the Match for his performance.
Furthermore, Hardik Pandya who is also recuperating from the back injury gets a place in the team. Ravindra Jadeja who was able to deliver the goods in 2019 finds a place in the World Cup squad of Scott Styris.
India’s swing pacer Deepak Chahar who has impressed with his skills also gets a place in the side. Chahar has also been ruled out with a stress fracture in his back. There is no place for Washington Sundar in Scott Styris’s team.
