Sean Abbott receives counselling after bowling bouncer that struck Philip Hughes
Sean Abbott, who bowled the bouncer that hit Philip Hughes and left him in induced coma has received counselling and most importantly cricketing world has rallied around him and supported him to the fullest.
Abbott was standing right next to Hughes when he fell face first into the pitch and was the first one to help Hughes as the other players rushed over to assist him.
Cricket Australia stressed that no blame was being put on Abbott and admitted that the youngster is really going through a tough time and the need of the hour is to support him.
“Abbott, along with all cricketers from both teams, have been offered counselling and support from Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA),” a statement read on their website.
Former Australian cricketers Glenn McGrath and Marcus North also showed their full support to Abbott through their tweets.
Our thoughts are also with Sean Abbott.
