Australian fast-bowler Sean Abbott will make return to the field after being named in the New South squad to face Queensland in a Sheffield Shield match from December 9th.
Abbott was a part of that match where the unfortunate demise of Phillip Hughes took place. This accident had a very bad affect on Abbott’s mind and he wasn’t sure of returning back to the field. However, the support of his family, friends and cricketing family was quite immense which placed him in a good frame of mind to come back to where he belongs.
During an interview with SMH, New South Wales coach Trevor Bayliss was quoted in saying:
“He’s very positive about playing, in fact I think a few of the other players are a bit more of a concern than Sean. He’s handled himself very well.
“Sometime it’s almost been a little bit too much [and] reminding everyone of his involvement. I think we’ve tried our best to keep his name out of it.
“He hasn’t done anything different to any other bowler or any other player in the game. He’s handled things as well as can be expected and probably better than some of the other guys [in the NSW squad].”
Former England captain Michael Vaughan expressed happiness and solidarity over Abbott’s return.
Brilliant News… The whole #cricketfamily are right behind you Sean….http://t.co/k2vFJOErJS.
