Services Announce Squad For Ranji Season, Imports New Chief Coach As Well 1

Services Ranji team have announced the 14 member squad for the upcoming season. The team includes likes of Amit Pachhara, Diwesh Pathania and Rahul Singh. The latter is a member of India Red in Duleep Trophy.

The team has two new faces in the form of India U19 leg-spinner Rahul Chahar and Nitin Tanwar. The former was a member of Rajasthan Ranji team, who made his debut for the state in the last season but decided to switch his base for the upcoming season. He also represented Rising Pune Supergiant in IPL 2017.

Comin to Tanwar, an off-spinner from the state of Delhi, he represented the state capital in junior cricket but decided to switch over to Services.

Along with few players, Services have also imported a new Chief Coach in the form of Sarabjit Singh. A veteran of 91 first-class games, he scored a total of 3103 runs during his playing career. His last first-class game came in 2013/14 season. After a break of one year, he decided to don the hat of a coach and has coached both J&k and Servies team, but for this season, he is all set to don the hat of a Chief Coach.

Services will open it’s Ranji Trophy campaign against Bengal at their home ground in Delhi. Their next challenge will be against Himachal Pradesh in Delhi before they face Vidarbha, Goa, Chattisgarh and Punjab respectively.

Since the BCCI had decided to revoke the neutral concept format, the team would like to improve its form as in the previous season, they could only win one out of nine contests and finished as the seventh-place team in the points table.
