Experienced Goa spinner Shadab Jakati has announced his retirement from all the forms of the game. Jakati has called curtains on his career after 23 years. The left-arm spinner could not play for the Indian team but had the pleasure of playing for different franchises in the Indian Premier League.
Jakati played for teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Lions in the cash-rich tournament. Jakati’s best bowling performance came when he took four wickets and conceded only 22 runs in his four overs quota.

Jakati had a long career of 23 years.
The southpaw spinner played 59 IPL matches in which he took 47 wickets at an economy of 8.02 and an average of 30.87. The Goa spinner played 92 First-class matches in which he scalped 275 wickets at an average of 32. The left-hander also scored 2734 runs in his first-class career, which also included one century and 14 fifties.
On the other hand, he scalped 93 wickets in the 82 List A matches while playing for Goa. He took 71 wickets in the 91 T20 matches. However, Shadab didn’t play a lot of cricket in the last one year.
Shadab Jakati took to his Twitter handle to share the news of his retirement. He gave his gratitude to Goa Cricket and the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Shadab Jakati had made his first-class debut in the 1998-99 season. The southpaw spinner must be proud for playing the game for such a long time.
