Pakistan cricketer Shadab Khan is found guilty of breaching ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel.

However, he breached the rule during Pakistan’s second Twenty20 International against the Windies in Karachi on April 2.

The leg-spinner violated Article 2.1.7 of the code, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an international match”.

In addition to, ICC also awarded one demerit point to Shadab’s disciplinary record.

Meanwhile, the incident happened during ninth over of the Windies’ innings. Shadab, after dismissing Chadwick Walton, pointed his finger at him and also made an inappropriate comment.

However, Shadab admitted his guilt and accepted the sanction proposed by David Boon. Boon is in the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees. And, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing.

On-field umpires Shozab Raza and Ahmed Shahab, third umpire Ahsan Raza, as well as fourth umpire Khalid Mahmood, levelled the charge upon leg-spinner.

Meanwhile, Level 1 carries a minimum penalty of an official reprimand while a maximum penalty 50 percent of a player’s match fee. They are also eligible to get one or two demerit points.

On the other side, with the 82-run win over hapless Windies, Pakistan took an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series.
