Shah Rukh Khan Has A Word Of Advice For His Retiring ‘Captain’ Gautam Gambhir
Shah Rukh Khan, co-owner of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders, paid a heartfelt tribute to Gautam Gambhir after the former Knight Riders skipper announced his retirement from the game.
Gautam Gambhir, on Tuesday, left the cricketing world shocked by announcing his retirement out of the blue. The announcement ended one of the most beautiful chapters in the history of Indian cricket. Gambhir will be always remembered for his contributions in two of India’s three victorious campaigns.

In 2007 World T20I, he top-scored in the final against Pakistan to help India lift the trophy. Four years later, he once again top-scored, hitting 97 as India beat Sri Lanka to lift the 50-over World Cup after 28 long years.
Gambhir retires after representing India in 58 Tests, 147 ODIs and 37 T20Is. He scored over 10,000 international runs.

After finishing in the bottom half of the table for the first three years of the tournament, the Kolkata-based franchise had paid a whopping amount of $2.4 million to secure Gambhir’s services in 2011, and it turned out to be one of the best signings in the history of the league. Under Gambhir’s captaincy, the Knight Riders qualified for the IPL playoffs and also made it to the Champions League Twenty20 for the first time in 2011.
He eventually led the side to their first title in 2012 by beating defending champions Chennai Super Kings. Two years later, he led the team to their second title, making the Knight Riders one of the most successful teams in the leagues. Even in the last season, he led the side to a third-place finish in the league. Moreover, Gambhir was also the batting mainstay of the side since joining the side. In the seven seasons, he scored 3,035 runs with the help of 27 half-centuries.

But ahead of the 2018 season, Gambhir and Kolkata Knight Riders parted ways as the former returned to Delhi Daredevils.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan was quick to pay tribute to Gambhir for his services. The Bollywood superstar also had a word of advice for Gambhir as he tweeted:
