Shahid Afridi Includes Only One Indian in His All-Time Playing XI
Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi picks his all-time XI which has comprises legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, and Adam Gilchrist.
Afridi’s playing XI has five Pakistani players, four Australians, one South African and One Indian cricketer. Seeing his team, he has selected aggressive openers and best middle-order batsman. His bowling department is also attacking and lethal.
Saeed Anwar and Adam Gilchrist as openers in Shahid Afridi’s Playing XI:
Former Pakistan cricketer Saeed Anwar and former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist are the openers in Afridi’s team. Awar likes to play graceful shots, whereas Gilchrist is an aggressive player. At No.3, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has been given place. Following this, another legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is lined up in the batting order.
Next in the middle order, Shahid Afridi has picked his Pakistan counterpart Inzamam Ul Haq. Former allrounder is one of the renowned middle-order batsmen who has played match-winning knocks for Pakistan. And then comes, the best allrounder Jacques Kallis after Inzamam.
Interestingly, Afridi’s team has two wicketkeepers that are Rashid Latif and Gilchrist, but Afridi has selected Latif over Gilchrist for the wicketkeeping position.
Talking about the bowling department, it has two Pakistan’s pacers- Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar. Both the speedsters are lethal. While selecting Akhtar in the team, Afridi said that he would surely like to keep him to create fear among the opposition. Another two pacers are Kallis and Glenn McGrath, lethal bowler of Australian cricket. His bowling department has the legendary spinner, Shane Warne, who has 708 Test wickets in his name.
Well, Afridi has also not clarified who will be the skipper of this legendary team.
