PSL: Shahid Afridi Joins Karachi Kings 1

Pakistan Super League franchise Karachi Kings has announced the joining of flamboyant all-rounder Shahid Afridi.

Afridi had earlier announced to part his ways with Peshawar Zalmi, which was his previous PSL team.

He had indicated that he would join a new team then.

Afridi tweeted last Friday that he is leaving PSL team Peshawar Zalmi due to personal reasons. However, he did not elaborate it further.

His words read, “Won the cup with 1 team, time for another. I am announcing my end of service as president & player of Peshawar Zalmi Team due to my personal reasons,”

Afridi’s announcement to part ways with his former team came as surprise to many, including the owner of franchise Javed Afridi.

Salman in a tweet posted on his official account welcomed the 37-year-old as Karachi Kings’ president.

Afridi has represented Pakistan in 98 T20Is, where he scored 1,405 runs and claimed 97 wickets. He had a successful season with Peshawar Zalmi, scoring 264 runs and bagging 12 wickets and now it’s time to watch out for his journey Karachi Kings.
