The arrival of Shakib Al Hasan And Litton Das in the IPL 2023 will be delayed after the duo was named in the Bangladesh squad for the upcoming one-off Test match against Ireland which will be played from April 4-8, 2023.
Both Shakib and Litton are signed with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2023 and there was a hope that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) would allow the pair to join their IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders this week but the squad announcement confirms that they will join after the Test ends.
BCB president Nazmul Hassan said on Friday that the IPL franchises were aware of the departure dates of the Bangladeshi players.
“We will let them (the Bangladesh players) go to the IPL in accordance with what we informed the tournament about their availability. We haven’t changed our decision,” said Hassan.
Left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who doesn’t play Test matches, has already reached India to join his IPL franchise Delhi Capitals, who play their first match on Saturday.
