Bangladesh is playing the first day-night Test match at Eden Gardens (Kolkata). As usual, the visitors were ineffective both with the bat as well as the ball. The decision to bat first was backfired for Bangladesh. The team is missing their experienced player and allrounder Shakib Al Hasan who has arrived Kolkata on Saturday (23rd November).
Shakib Al Hasan has come for a one-day trip to Kolkata.
According to Star Sports, Shakib Al Hasan has reached Kolkata for a one-day business trip. However, it’s not clear that the player will go to watch the match at Eden Gardens. His arrival during the pink ball is an unusual coincidence. He will return to Bangladesh on Sunday (24th November).
Shakib Al Hasan will not be the part of the Bangladesh team for one year as the player is banned by the ICC. The player failed to report the corrupt approach to the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) which has cost him a big break in his career. His absence in the team has proved expensive to the Tigers who are currently touring India.
The all-rounder has been the strength of the team. He has given single-handedly victory to the team for many times. Mominul Haque, the replacement of Shakib Al Hasan’s captaincy, surely need the experience of the player.
Bangladesh Team first lost the T20I series against India and now they have not shown the temperament to play the Test cricket. In the Indore Test match, the visitors were clueless in facing the Indian bowlers and they repeated the same mistake at Eden Gardens where they are playing their first pink-ball game.
