Shane Warne Reveals He’s Virat Kohli’s ‘Big Fan’
The celebrated Australian cricketer Shane Warne is in awe of Team India skipper Virat Kohli’s juggernaut. The veteran leg-spinner is further impressed by Kohli’s sincere approach. Warne reiterated Kohli often give his cent per cent to script glory for his side apart from the prevailing circumstances. The veteran spinner added batting star is too expressive which eventually is a secret to his success.
Kohli is too emotional but sincere: Warne
The 30-year-old batting star Kohli always wears heart on his sleeve which is reflected by his on-field antics. However, he has emerged as the standout leading by winning historic Test series in Australia and followed it with the 50-over bilateral series.
“You know what he does? He stands up for what he believes in. He speaks how he feels and he’s real. He’s emotional, a bit too emotional sometimes on the field. But that’s the part of the charm,” Warne told ToI.
Warne is Kohli’s fan:
The 49-year-old Warne didn’t shy away from saying that Kohli is a good bloke. He stated he’s enjoying the way Kohli plays his game.
Interestingly, Warne went on to say he’s the admirer of Kohli, who has dominated the contemporary cricket with his batting.
Quite often, the top-order batsman Kohli has earned accolades for his supreme show. His inclusion in Team India has not only strengthened the team, but his consistency has put India in a strong position.
“He’s fantastic. I love watching him bat and I love listening to him. I am a big fan,” Warne said on Kohli.
Warne added Kohli takes on the challenge which eventually makes him threatening batsman. As cricketing fans across the globe cherish Kohli, Warne stressed Kohli has often done his basics right while being truthful in every possible way.
Master in run chases:
Besides, Warne in awe of Kohli’s success rate in the run chase. Phenomenal in his approach, the right-handed batsman Kohli has as many as 24 centuries which came chasing the targets.
“I think world cricket loves him. Everyone loves Virat Kohli because it’s refreshing to hearing him talk so honestly and openly. He loves confrontation. That’s why he has those 100s in chases,” Warne stated.
While heaping praise on Kohli, Warne remarked spirited Kohli has enough in his tank to go a long way. Owing to the aspiration, Warne believes Kohli ticks all the boxes–to rise to the occasion at the behest.
“How many, 23, 24? The next best is how much? I can’t remember who’s second. That’s something inbuilt into you. That’s not skill or talent. He’s got a lot of that. That is just pure competitiveness and pure desire – to get the job done,” Warne further added.
Anyway, many would’ve had loved the on-field battle between Warne and Kohli, but as he said it’s hard to compare players who belong to two different eras. So, the debate is over.
