Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Shane Watson has reached Dubai, where he is all set to quarantine himself for one week. Watson took to his Twitter account to post a video and stated he is looking forward to having an exciting season with the three-time champions. The former Australian veteran has been an integral part of the franchise and he is going to play a crucial role in the upcoming season.
Watson added that he has a beautiful view of Burj Khalifa from his hotel room. The strongly built player stated that he would do some exercises in his room to keep himself at the top of his fitness before beginning outdoor training.
Shane Watson is going to hold the key
In fact, Watson didn’t have the best of the previous season for CSK as he was struggling to find his form. However, MS Dhoni and the team management kept their faith in him and the right-hander was able to deliver the goods in the final against Mumbai Indians.
Watson scored 80 runs from 59 balls and batted with an injured knee, which was covered in blood. However, his efforts went in vain as CSK went on to lose the match by one run.
Watson finished as the second-highest run-getter for the franchise as he scored 398 runs in 17 IPL matches at an average of 23.41.
“I am now quarantined for 7 days with a few COVID testing to make sure everything is okay. I am getting used to being in a room with plenty to do. I have got a beautiful view of the Burj Khalifa. I am going to be doing some exercises, walking up and down my room, listening to podcasts, plenty of T20 Stars stuff as well as my preparation, getting ready for the CSK training camp. I am so excited to be here for another IPL campaign,” Watson said in a video message.
