It was an amazing day for the Indian bowlers at Eden Park as they restricted host batsmen for just 132 in 20 overs. India earned another lead in the five-match series as they defeated New Zealand by seven wickets. Shivam Dubey finished the game with a six over the long-on in style. However, during the Kiwis’ innings, Shardul Thakur tumbled as he collided with Colin Munro mid-way at the Auckland pitch.
While coming in to bat first, New Zealand opened with a great start as Martin Guptill hit two back-to-back sixes in the first over. However, their power-packed batting line struggled to find the fences. Besides, Indian skipper Virat Kohli dramatically dives forward and takes a good catch of Guptill.
On the other hand, India did not have the needed opening stand to their innings. The visitors lost the two top-order batsmen, Rohit Sharma and Kohli for 8 and 11 runs respectively.
However, the wicketkeeper-batsman, KL Rahul (57) and Shreyas Iyer (44) played a significant role when it comes to the Indian batting line. Rahul was, later, named the Player of the Match for his victorious contribution with a gritty-fifty to his name.
Shardul Thakur stumbles after colliding with Colin Munro:
However, after Gutptill’s disappointing exit, Munro took charge of the batting line up of the Black Caps. It was during this very same over that Munro and Shardul collided with each other while the batsman was looking to scamper for a quick single.
While the two Kiwi batsmen managed to take that single run, Shardul tumbled and fell due to the accidental bump with the batsman.
Nevertheless, Shardul Thakur and Colin Munro escaped unhurt during the collision on the pitch.

In the meantime, India will be looking forth to win the third game at the Seddon Park on 29 January. While this win will ensure the five-match T20I series.
Also, it will certainly build up the pressure on the home side for the remainder of the fixtures.
