Both Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians have suffered a huge blow as two of their key players Mohammed Shami and Aaron Finch respectively have been ruled out of IPL 8 due to injuries.
Shami, who finished as India’s second highest wicket-taker in ICC World Cup 2015, had problems with a dodgy knee during the tournament and now it has turned out to be more serious than expected. A BCCI official has made it clear that Shami will have to go under the knife, which will keep him out of action for atleast 2 months. This means that he will miss the Bangladesh tour which is scheduled to take place in June.
As for Finch, he suffered a hamstring injury during Mumbai Indians’ match against Rajasthan Royals on April 14th. He pulled up clutching the back of his left thigh after completing a single in the fourth over of the match, retired hurt, and didn’t take any further part in the game.
Later, Finch underwent a scan and tweeted that the results had not been good.
Looks like I’ll be out of the rest of @IPL at this stage! The scan showed a bit of damage, absolutely shattered!

With Finch injured, Lendl Simmons is most likely to be given a go ahead of Aiden Blizzard.
