Western Australia bowler Jason Behrendorff made an incredible return to the domestic cricket by bagging the fifth-best figure in Sheffield Shield’s history.

Playing for Western Australia against Victoria Bushrangers, Behrendorff took nine for 37, his career best, to rip apart Cameron White led the side for just 117 in the first innings.
White, after winning the toss, elected to bat first. The pacer made his decision look like a blunder.
Behrendorff was on sidelines for nearly three months due to a stress fracture in his left fibula and his return didn’t hamper his bowling at all.
The left-arm bowler nearly picked up his tenth wicket had not David Moody not picked up Aaron Finch for 34, second highest after Daniel Christian’s 39.
Looking at the previous records, two of three ten wicket hauls happened came against Victoria, in 1966 and 1967. Bowlers who grabbed the honours were Peter Allan and Ian Brayshaw, who took 10/61 and 10/44 respectively.
