Dashing Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has signed up with the Professional Management Group (PMG), India’s first sports marketing company for a contract of 3 years. The company is chaired by former Indian opener and batting great Sunil Gavaskar. Dhawan, who has a massive following among the Indian youth, was being sought after by the company for a fair duration, and now, has signed up a three-year contract.

With Dhawan signing up with PMG, now the company will look after the southpaw’s brand endorsements and will be involved in his management. Along with his brand endorsements, PMG will also take care of Dhawan’s associations, corporate profile, patents and digital rights, with a special emphasis on image building and reputation management for the left-hander.

Sam Balsara, Director, PMG & Chairman, Madison World said, “We are excited to sign up with Shikhar, one of few batsman to play across all formats for India. He is one of India’s most gifted cricketers with right aggression, competitiveness & consistency.”

Balsara added that Dhawan had a great following among the youth and that was another reason behind having the Indian opener onboard. “He has made a place for himself with his solid and powerful batting skills. Being an instant crowd favourite, brands would love to associate with such a strong personality in order to project high spiritedness and exuberance amongst their target audience.”

Dhawan is not the first prominent Indian cricketer to be signed up by PMG. PMG has signed an array of cricketers in the past, and some of the names include Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant and Prithvi Shaw. The three youngsters have often been termed as the future stars by pundits around Indian cricket.
