Former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar has criticized Babar Azam for his decision-making skills after visitors lost to England in the second T20I. Hosts England had a target of 196 — to chase which they made look easy. They won the second and penultimate T20I against Pakistan by five wickets chasing their 195 total with five balls to spare. The three lions had won the toss and chosen to field. England now lead the T20 series 1-0 with one match left to play.
The first match was abandoned due to rain and the last match of the T20 series will be played tomorrow at Old Trafford. England have fielded a new squad and no player from the Test squad participated in the T20 series.
Babar Azam looks like a lost cow to me: Shoaib Akhtar
The Rawalpindi Express has laid heavy criticism on the Pakistani skipper after the T20 loss against England. Pakistan had set up a huge score of 195 in which Babar had contributed 56 of 44 balls. He was still bashed by Shoaib on his youtube channel who claimed him as aloof. He questioned his tactics and not making the best out of chances.
“Babar Azam looks like a lost cow to me. He is out there, not knowing what to do. It is important to take decisions on his own so that it could help him become a better captain in the coming times. Babar will need to understand that the chances coming his way are not going to happen for the rest of his life so, he needs to make the most out of it,” Shoaib Akhtar.
Shoaib Akhtar mocks Pakistan contingent:
Akhtar has criticized the Pakistan management as well as the players for the selection and performance of the team. He says the team lacks efficient planning
“Pakistan team are playing in a bio ‘insecure’ bubble, where each player is insecure. No one has an idea about whether they want to become a good captain or a good brand. Confused selection, confused management, confused captain, confused team, and confusion of everything. Teams are not made like this. So go with a set plan and go with one plan,” Akhtar concluded.
In the three-match, T20 series, England now lead 1-0 with one match left to play on Tuesday at Old Trafford. Explosive batting form Jonny Bairstow, skipper Eoin Morgan and Dawid Malan helped England easily chase Pakistan’s total of 195 in 5 balls less.
