The staunchest critics of Pakistan cricket, Shoaib Akhtar has claimed that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has done all the formalities with Andy Flower to replace Misbah-ul-Haq from the head coach’s position. As per him, the former Zimbabwaine will take on the job after completing his commitment with Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) Multan Sultan for the coming edition.
Former Pakistan cricketer Misbah-ul-Haq has been under a lot of scrutinies after the Pakistan team had constant failures in a foreign land. After struggling against England in August, they were thrashed by New Zealand at their home ground.
While speaking on his YouTube Channel, Shoaib Akhtar informed that Andy Flower is in line to become the new head coach of the Pakistan team-led by Babar Azam.
“I am telling you the decision to sack Misbah has been made, Andy Flower will be replacing him. Andy Flower is currently not accepting the offer as he is the coach of the Multan Sultans in the PSL. He will take over the job once PSL gets over.
“PCB’s cricket committee can do nothing, they just talk nonsense, just leave them. Committee has decided to give Misbah a chance, but the truth is, Misbah will be asked to leave.
“Waqar Younis is being asked to work under Misbah, it’s nonsense,” Shoaib Akhtar said on his YouTube channel.
Shoaib Akhtar said that PCB plays the blame game which results in the axing of the head coach. He said that they purposely appoint average people” as head coach for the past 20-25 years to put all the blame for the team’s poor performances on them.
“Talking about Misbah, PCB brings in average people so that entire blame can be put on the person and then PCB decides to ask that said person to leave. PCB is very clever, they have been doing this for 20-25 years, they keep on bringing average people,” Shoaib Akhtar stated.
Shoaib Akhtar believes defeating South Africa is the only chance for Misbah to retain his position:
However, Shoaib Akhtar reckons that Misbah has the final chance to maintain the position if Pakistan gets better off South Africa at the home.
“Pakistan will next take on South Africa, I am telling you if Pakistan does not create spinning tracks, the visiting team will score 500 every time. Defeating South Africa is the only chance Misbah has, I am telling you the contract with Andy Flower has been sealed,” Shoaib Akhtar concluded.
Pakistan will host South Africa for the two-match Test series and three-match T20I series. The tour will begin on January 26 with the Test series.
