Indian National Cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri has admitted that they will follow the order of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the government in the middle of the growing tension over the Pulwama attack.

Meanwhile, the recent Pulwama Terror attack has created a stir countrywide as a Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) rammed an explosives-laden car into a CRPF bus, killing at least 40 personnel and leaving many critically wounded. On the back of it, India have cut several ties with the neighbouring country. Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has called for a boycott of Pakistan match to show their protest. On the other hand, Chetan Chauhan wants India to put pressure on ICC threatening to boycott the whole event.

However, the Committee of Administrators (CoA) met earlier today to decide that they will talk with the government before taking the final call. They have also sent a letter to the ICC regarding security concerns of their players during the World Cup in England. As per the schedule, India will play Pakistan at Manchester on June 16, which has already witnessed a massive hype among the fans.

Ravi Shastri seconded the comments made by CoA saying that he will abide by the decision of the government. He also added that BCCI and government have proper knowledge on what’s happening and they will take a decision.

It’s entirely left to the BCCI and the government. They know exactly what is happening and they will take a call. We will go by what they decide. If the government says it’s that sensitive you do not need to play the World Cup, I will go by my government,” Shastri told Mirror Now.

The showpiece event will commence from May 30 with England facing South Africa while India will begin their campaign on June 5 against the Proteas.
