Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan, two Indian batters, benefited most from the most recent update of the ICC ODI players’ rankings on August 9, 2023, as a result of their performances in the most recent India vs. West Indies ODI series.

Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill opened the innings in each of the three games of the three-match ODI series that India won 2-1 over West Indies. In three games, Kishan scored three half-centuries and was named Player of the Series.

Contrarily, Shubman Gill’s performances in the three ODIs—scoring 7, 34, and 85—helped him advance in the ICC ODI players rankings.

The ICC revised its batter rankings list on Wednesday, and both players were awarded with new career-high ratings. Gill moved up two spots to fifth overall and reached 743 rating points, putting him within striking distance of two Pakistani players.
