The promising young batter Shubman Gill, who is playing the role of an opener for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), this IPL season, said that his side is ready to face SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) spin bowling attack, especially against the leg-spin wizard, Rashid Khan.
KKR lost their opener against Mumbai Indians by 49 runs. They will focus to win the match against SRH, who has also lost their last match against RCB.
Talking ahead of the clash, KKR’s opener Shubman Gill said that they had well prepared to face Hyderabad’s bowler. He hopes that his team could execute to the gameplan during the game.
“The wicket will get slow and favour spinners as the tournament moves ahead. At the moment medium pacers are getting swing under the lights initially.
“They have got a very experienced bowling attack. We have practiced well for situations when bowlers are at the top, we just need to bring those things to the game,” Shubman Gill said.
Nitish Rana and Eoin Morgan will tackle the threat of Rashid Khan: Shubman Gill
Shubman Gill, who failed to score much versus Mumbai Indians in the first match, said that the presence of left-handers; Nitish Rana and Eoin Morgan will help negate the Rashid Khan threat for them.
“With Nitish and Eoin Morgan, we will be in a better position to tackle the threat of Rashid and off-spinners. A left-hand right-hand combination will help us,” he said.
Apart from Gill, the Kolkata-based franchise has the likes of Sunil Narine, Nitish Rana, captain Dinesh Karthik, who have the experience of playing in the IPL. For power hitters, they have Andre Russell, who is the most crucial player for KKR to win matches.
In the bowling department, they have Pat Cummins, Kuldeep Yadav and the young talent Shivam Mavi also showed his potential against MI, picking wickets of Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock.
SRH and KKR will face each other in Sheikh Zyada Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
