Team India opener, Smriti Mandhana has won the player of the tournament in the recently concluded Kia Super League for her heroics with the bat.
Meanwhile, Mandhan represented Western Storms in this edition which is her first-ever stint as well. She took the tournament by the storm, smashing the first hundred of this edition.
Smriti Mandhana registered 421 runs at a strike-rate of 174.68, one hundred and two fifties to guide her team to the semifinals of the tournament. However, they lost the semifinal clash against Surrey Stars, who eventually won the finals.
Moreover, Mandhana struck 45 fours and 21 towering sixes, the most by any cricketer. New Zealand‘s Sophie Divine is the closest to her with 19 sixes to her name. She also struck the joint-fastest half-century in T20 cricket.
Banking on her heroics, she bagged the most prized award of the award. Western Storms took to Twitter to share the news with all the fans.
“Congratulations to

The best is yet to come: Smriti Mandhana
However, the young southpaw noted that this is not her best. She also wants to continue this rich form for the Indian team in the upcoming tour to Sri Lanka.
“I believe that my best is yet to come, and I’ve to keep improving myself and keep pushing myself and not be complacent. Scoring runs for my country and being consistent is what I always aspire to do,” Mandhana said to TOI.
With the World T20 coming up in November, India will badly want their opening batter to continue this form. India starts their campaign against New Zealand.
