The issue regarding the appointment of Head Coach again came into limelight when Sehwag, during a talk with India TV, had said that he was not appointed as the Head Coach of India cricket team because he did not have any setting in BCCI.
On learning about the same, Ganguly had reportedly called Viru’s comments as foolish, but just after few hours, the former Indian captain has cleared that he was misquoted and he came up with an explanation on twitter –
My quote on Sehwag completely false ..right quote ..Sehwag very dear to me .will speak to him soon ..

With Ganguly himself coming with an answer, the matter is expected to come to an end soon because Sehwag too had taken a dig at Ganguly on learning his comments –
Har kisi ko safai mat do , aap insaan ho , washing powder nahin !

Sehwag and Ganguly are now expected to sort out the matter soon. Meanwhile, there were some other things which Sehwag revealed during the chat with India TV.
Apart from explaining why he lost the race to become the Head Coach, Sehwag also said that he was asked by BCCI officials themselves to apply for the job. In fact, he also revealed that he talked with Virat Kohli, but still, he lost the race to Ravi Shastri

It is to be noted that Shastri had applied for the job the in the second attempt after BCCI again invited the job application after Anil Kumble resigned as the Head Coach. The day Shastri applied for the job, it was somehow confirmed that he would take charge as it is a known fact that Shastri and Kohli share a good rapport.
After his return, Shastri also brought back Bharat Arun as the bowling coach of Indian cricket team as he wanted his core team in the job. Apart from him, there were few changes as Sanjay Banhar was elevated to the post of the Assistant Coach from batting coach. All the contracts were given for two years, which will last till 2019.
