After announcing Unacadmey as IPL 2020’s official partner, the Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) has proclaimed CRED as their new official partner for the coming three seasons. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly is impressed with his team’s work for roping the deal amid the economic depression because of the ongoing coronavirus.

CRED is an Indian start-up company that allows users to pay credit card bills through its mobile applications, aims to make financial decisions smooth and rewarding for its members.

Taking to Twitter, Sourav Ganguly was quick to congratulate as soon as BCCI made official that CRED is their new partner until the 2022 season. He wrote,” Well done BCCI in this tuff market situation”

But BCCI has not disclosed the amount paid for the sponsorship by CRED.

IPL 2020 has become the season of Indian startups:

This IPL season seemed to be dedicated to Indian startups. The title sponsor of IPL 2020, Dream11, is also an Indian-based application.

However, earlier, several have claimed that it was a Chinese company but then the mobile fantasy sports platform’s spokesperson came forward to clear that it is totally owned by Indians. They had informed that a China-based App development organization called Tencent Games had a small investment in the application but the major share is held by Indian companies.

On the other hand, Unacademy is a Bengaluru based start-up which is an online education platform and has higher reach among students.

The BCCI has to run to bag the sponsors after Vivo had pulled out from this year’s IPL sponsorship. The Vivo had won the IPL’s title sponsorship deal in 2017 for INR 440 annually for three seasons. But they had withdrawn from this year’s deal after the moment of #boycottChineseproduct started in India owing to the death of Indian soldiers in the border tension between India and China.
