South African middle order batting dynamo and skipper AB de Villiers asserted they have been able to put together the best team to lift the trophy this World Cup of 2015 in spite of the loss against Pakistan in a rain engrossed World Cup game on the last Saturday.

He still does believe that they have the right assortment of a nearly perfect group here to lift the trophy, said De Villiers who scored the highest for his side by scoring 77 runs.

In a match shortened by rain and its fate decided by the Duckworth Lewis method, South Africa went down chasing a total of 222 runs posted by Pakistan as the left arm seamers caused all sorts of problems for the South African batsmen.

But the skipper said the loss would not lower down their confidence too much as they were still second on the leader board with three wins from five games.

De Villiers added that it was difficult batting under lights, but gave no excuse for why they could not chase down the total.

They are still in a good position in the group, but he never likes to lose. They were shocking with the bat and they have been under pressure many a times in the last few years and did manage to ultimately drive on out on the top.

It was not easy (batting under lights) though. Still, a good enough wicket to chase that down, no reason they should not have chased it down, he said.
