- Captain Steven Smith – Rock solid for Australia

Smith has been at the forefront to contribute for his national side as a skipper and has been consistent while performing with the bat. At the MCG, he smashed his 17th Test century (165*) and second against Pakistan after the Brisbane Pink-Ball Test (130).
Smith became seventh batsman in 2016 to cross the 1000-run milestone and third skipper after Alastair Cook and Virat Kohli to do the same.
He went past 1000 runs in a calendar year for the third consecutive time after 2014 and 2015 as he notched his four hundreds in 2016.
The 27-year-old part-time leggie played 11 Tests, spread over 18 innings and amassed 1079 runs at an incredible average of 71.93 in 2016.
