Chris Morris

  1. South Africa vs England 4th ODI – Johannesburg:

This game is bound to go down as the most thrilling ODIs of 2016. England had a 2-1 lead going into the game with the hosts needing to win at all costs in order to keep the series alive. Needing a moderate 263 to win, South Africa were left reeling at 191-6 with Chris Morris and David Weise in the middle. Soon Weise too was dismissed and the hosts needed a further 56 off nine overs, with just the tailenders to support Morris.

Morris, however, was fully determined to keep the series alive, as he hit an array of gigantic sixes. Morris was harsh towards Stuart Broad as the all-rounder brought his team back into the contest out of nowhere. The eighth wicket had gone down for 210, and Morris finally found some sort of support in Kyle Abbott. Morris was dismissed with the scores being leveled at 262 but with more than two overs to spare. In walked Imran Tahir, who pierced the gap to finish off the game with a boundary. It was just the magnitude of Morris’ epic 62 off 38 deliveries that sealed the show for the hosts. Inspired by Morris’ heroics, South Africa went on to win the fifth game, and lifted the series 3-2.
