  1. India vs Australia – T20I series in Australia:

In this section, we consider India’s entire performance as a team, after things looked dismal post the ODI series. In the five-match ODI series, the Indians had been defeated 4-1 and the T20I series offered some hope. The Men in Blue put forward a show of sheer grit and resilience as the presence of some fresh and experienced individuals brought in the much needed stability in the ranks. The first T20I at Adelaide was won thanks to Virat Kohli’s 90 not out, and a spirited bowling performance later. The second game at Melbourne had a similar pattern, as Kohli once again fired with an able half-century from Rohit Sharma as well. The spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja did the job as the Aussies were restricted to 157-8.

India went on to create history at Sydney as they became the first team in the game’s history to whitewash Australia in their own backyard. Considering the drubbing of the ODI series, it was quite a special one for the Indians.
