Shane Waston’s record of most runs by a captain in an innings: Shane Watson has a habit of scoring heavily in dead rubbers. Once again, he repeated his habit of scoring in dead rubbers as he smashed his first ever century in T20I against India. With this century, he also owned the record of highest score by a captain in T20 cricket.
It was the first time when Watson was leading the team after an injury to Aaron finch. He opened the innings with Usman Khawaja and went on to score 124* runs, highest by a captain in a T20I. His innings comprised of 10 fours and six huge sixes. But Australian team suffered a loss as Suresh Raina smashed a four on the last ball of the game to sweep the series by a margin 3-0.
Previously, this record was held by Faf du Plessis who scored 119 runs against West Indies in the year 2015.
