Highest innings total – After being clean swept by Sri Lanka in the Test series, Australia rebounded in ODI series to win by a margin of 4-1. But it was the T20 series that really helped them overcome a 3-0 shocking loss, as Australia crushed the hosts in that series.
In the first game of the two-match T20 series, Australia rode on an explosive innings of 145* by Glenn Maxwell to put up a mammoth total of 263 on the board, breaking the previous record of 260 held by Sri Lanka which they made against Kenya in 2007.
Australian team batted at a run-rate of 13.15 all throughout the game and thumped Sri Lanka by a margin of 85 runs.
Visitors went on to win the second game as well to blunt agony of a Test series loss.
