Rod Tucker (England vs Sri Lanka) – This umpiring howler generated a controversy as Sri Lankan protested against this howler made by the umpire Rod Tucker. The replays showed that the left leg of Nuwan Pradeep, the bowler who dismissed Alex Hales, was behind the line but the third umpire did not change the decision. This decision was not received well by Sri Lanka and they later protested against this decision by hanging their unfurled national flag of their country at the balcony of Lord’s. This chance denied Sri Lankan team a wicket and Alex Hales, the batsman, went on to score 94 after surviving this scare.
