Australia captain Steven Smith has form and numbers on his back to make it to the list. The right-handed batsman had a large piece of success cut to his name in ODIs this year. Right from the dawn, he bossed the opposition with every delicate drive he played for a boundary.
A strong character off the field too, Smith’s captaincy came in handy for Australia too, leading them to some success in ODIs. Apart from David Warner, Smith is the only other batsman to notch-up more than 1000 runs in ODIs this year. Leading with the bat, he played a vital role in the last home series against New Zealand at home, pocketing 236 runs with a magnificent 164 in Sydney.
