With only a handful of days left before 2017 starts, it’s time to look back at one more year that witnessed some remarkable performances from players in the T20 format. Starting from Virat Kohli’s exploits in Australia to Carlos Brathwaite’s incredible four sixes in an over in the World T20 final, the soon to be over 2016 was full of some memorable performances and so, we at Sportzwiki list our T20 team of the year:
1. Rohit Sharma:
The Indian opener began 2016 on a brilliant note by scoring two successive half-centuries and finishing the Australia series as the third highest run-getter. After a quiet home series against Sri Lanka where he scored only 56 runs in three outings, the Mumbai batsman began the Asia Cup in style by scoring a gritty 83 against Bangladesh. However, he struggled for runs for a lengthy period before scoring his first fifty in ten matches against the West Indies in Florida. But the third highest run-scorer of this year has done enough to earn a place in this team.
