6. Darren Sammy (captain):
The former West Indies T20 captain did not have a productive year neither with the bat nor with the ball. He faced 13 balls in his three innings this year and scored only eight runs. In bowling, he delivered just three overs and took one wicket. But that does not demean his stature as a captain in this format. He led his team to the World T20 title this year and became the only captain in the world to win the title twice. And all this came when his players were involved in an ugly tussle with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). But he did not let the off-field controversies affect the team’s performance and that’s why he is the ideal candidate to lead this star-studded team.
