In one of the most entertaining innings of the year, Australia’s Aaron Finch took Sri Lanka apart at the Dambulla stadium on Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka in August this year. Sri Lanka decided to bat first and struggled throughout the innings to post a mediocre score of 212. Australia were expected to win it easily but what followed was not what many expected.
With hardly any total to chase, Australia were expected to play with some patience, but Finch came out all guns blazing to give Sri Lanka not even a sniff in the game. He raced away to 34 inside 5 over and helped Australia on their way with a quick fire 55 from just 19 balls. He scored the joint-fastest ODI century by an Australian and gave his side an unassailable lead in the 5-match ODI series.
