4. David Miller’s herculean innings as South Africa pull off an amazing win against Australia at Durban:
Australia did not put a foot wrong in the game in the first half as batting first, David Warner and Steven Smith produced incredible hundreds to see them pile up 371 runs on the board as the hosts’ chances looked bleak at the half-way mark.
South Africa openers Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock came out and played with aggressive intent to lead a reply of sorts to Australian total of 371, but the visitors kept the hosts under check with regular wickets at critical moments.
It looked curtains for South Africa once JP Duminy got out but David Miller ‘The Killer’ had other ideas as batsman showcased one of the most mesmerizing innings in front of his home crowd to steal the show.
He went onto score a perfect hundred (118* of 79 balls) and smashed bowlers to all parts of ground to see hosts claim an amazing win over Australia at Kingsmead, Durban.
It was a key game for South Africa as it dashed hopes of Australia of making a comeback in the series as the hosts gained further impetus from an amazing win to whitewash Australia in a bilateral contest in their own backyard.
