England had already won the four-match series but ended it in a poor manner. Chasing an improbable target of 382, the visitors collapsed dramatically on the final day to lose the Test. Alastair Cook’s side finished the fourth day on 52 for 3 and with rain forecast on the final day, they needed to be cautious to avoid a defeat. However, they lasted for only 66 minutes, losing their remaining seven wickets for 43 runs to end the series on a sour note. The 20-year-old Kagiso Rabada was the wrecker-in-chief with six wickets for only 32 runs in 10.4 overs.
