World Cup winning Captain Kapil Dev wants the Kerala born fast bowler S Sreesanth to provide enough examples to back his claims of facing ill treatment from the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI). Reportedly, the apex cricketing body has imposed a lifetime ban of the cricketer for his alleged involvement in a spot-fixing case in the 2013 edition of the franchise based tournament Indian Premier League (IPL). He was representing Rajasthan Royals, who also served a ban for two years, and will make a comeback from this edition of the tournament.

Since then, Sreesanth has been fighting this case in court; however, BCCI is stuck to its decision of not removing the life ban imposed on him.

Kapil while talking about the ongoing tussle between BCCI and the Kerala pacer said that Sreesanth should back his claims to prove his point.

“If he (Sreesanth) thinks that way (BCCI has been biased), then he has to give enough reasons to back his claim. Every person feels he should be playing for the country but at the end of the day, only eleven players are going to play,” Kapil stated during the Krishnapatnam Golden Eagles’ Golf Championship.

Notably, Sreesanth has decided to move to the Supreme Court to get his ban lifted.

Earlier, the 34-year-old pacer while asked about the discrimination remarks said:

“All I said was that there were 13 accused and why they were treated differently. This is the only thing I asked. I never asked to reveal their names. More than anyone else, I know much better about it because I was the one who had undergone the toughest possible time.”

However, Kapil Dev, one of the best all-rounders India has ever produced maintained that it was his personal opinion.

“These are Sreesanth’s personal views. I cannot comment much on his personal views,” he concluded.
