Aakash Chopra notes that SuRisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) strength is their bowling unit. He compared their bowling attack to Python, which tightens its grip around its prey and suffocates it to death.
Ahead of the match between SRH and DC, Aakash Chopra highlighted Hyderabad’s strengths and weaknesses while speaking on his YouTube Channel.
The renowned commentator Chopra stated that Like Python, SRH bowlers squeeze the opposition and don’t allow them to score freely against them.
“When you talk about the Sunrisers Hyderabad strengths, this team is squeezing the opposition. They remind me of a python that wraps around you and suffocates its prey. They are actually slowing everyone down,” Aakash Chopra said.
He remarked that SRH doesn’t have big names in their bowling department, but they have class players, who have the ability not to give runs early. He stated that Sandeep Sharma controls the run ate while Holder removes the pace from the ball to give breakthroughs.
“Their bowling is not looking for wickets of every ball, they don’t have Jofra’s pace or Bumrah’s class. But they are not worried as they have Sandeep who will bowl slowly but will not give boundary balls. Holder will also not give you the pace and he will get extra bounce.”

But he lauded David Warner for his astute captaincy to rotate his bowlers according to the need of the hour and get better of them.
“And then David Warner’s captaincy has been very good, he is outstanding while rotating his bowling resources. They use just the five bowlers, they have a 6th option but don’t use him.”
Aakash Chopra pointed out that Rashid Khan gets the work done for them in middle-overs while T Natrajan has been effective in the middle.
“They get Rashid to bowl in the required phase and get overs out of Shahbaz at the right time and then T Natarajan’s overs in the end with an over in the middle.”
He highlighted that SunRisers Hyderabad’s strength is they restrict opposition for a paltry total.
Their strength is that they restrict the opposition between 125 and 140 runs.”
SRH’s batting depth weakness: Aakash Chopra

Aakash Chopra pointed out that SRH’s batting order at the middle was a slight issue. After Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey, they heavily depend on Jason Holder in the middle-order.
“Their weakness is that they have a slight issue with their batting. If Saha is there, it is great but if not then Sreevats Goswami, Warner, Williamson and Manish Pandey.
“They rely a lot on Jason Holder, that he will do the batting and bowling as well, that he will be giving the finishing touches and pick up wickets as well,” Aakash Chopra added.
The 43-year-old pointed out the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s over-reliance on their overseas recruits as a slight weakness for them.
“So I feel they have an over-dependence on their overseas players which is a slight weakness.”
But at last, he concluded by picking SunRisers Hyderabad as the winner of the second qualifier.
“I am going with Sunrisers Hyderabad to win this one,” he added.
The winner of the second qualifier will play the grand-finale against Mumbai Indians on November 10.
